The Americana Music Association of Australia presents a night of Australian Americana artists at The Stag and Hunter in Newcastle, Thursday, September 21st, Kicking off at 7 pm.

Australia is producing world-class artists making American and the Hunter region is no exception with the Stag event showcasing some of our finest locals including Magpie Diaries, Nicholas Connors, Dearly Departed, and Dan Southward, joining them on stage will be the North coast’s  Lou Bradley and Central Coast Duo Eagle & The Wolf.

The Americana Music Association of Australia Incorporated is a non-profit organisation that aspires to foster the enjoyment, growth, and recognition of Americana music in Australia by providing information, support and opportunities to our members and the Americana music community within Australia.

Americana is contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B, and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres upon which it may draw. While acoustic instruments are often present and vital, Americana also often uses a full electric band.

Americana music in Australia builds on the Americana styles and melds them with aspects of uniquely Australian sounds, stories, and lyrical content, often influenced by our history, people, and place in the world.
