Following the hugely successful national cinema screenings of AUSTRALIAN MADE: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, the DVD and Blu-ray of this classic slice of Oz Rock has debuted at No 1 on the ARIA Music DVD Chart this week!
The release of the digitally restored AUSTRALIAN MADE: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION has been met with audience and critical acclaim. Amanda Keller, co-host of WS FM flagship breakfast show Jonesy & Amanda, said on-air: “there’s so much to love about this film… it’s absolutely amazing.”
30 years ago a national series of outdoor festivals took place in the summer of 1986/87 under the banner AUSTRALIAN MADE, which not only broke the rules, but forever changed the perception about how we viewed our place on music’s world stage. AUSTRALIAN MADE saw nearly 140,000 fans in six cities witness performances from a potent and imaginative line-up including INXS, Jimmy Barnes, Divinyls, Models, The Saints, The Triffids and I’m Talking.
Acclaimed director Richard Lowenstein and a 50-strong film crew captured the on-stage performances and backstage camaraderie between artists for production of a feature film of the AUSTRALIAN MADE tour. In partnership with the National Film and Sound Archive the film has been digitally restored from the original film negative with 5.1 surround sound.
