Dave Carter, Ten Tall Tails album launch @ The Croatian Club Wickham

The Croatian is a gem of a little club nestled in Newcastle’s Wickham Park where on any given Sunday you can have a quite beer and listen to some of Newcastle’s finest musicians jamming in the beer garden.

Dave Carter

Not last Sunday. The music was inside.  The little club was bursting at the seams with hundreds there to see popular Newcastle musician Dave Carter launch his long awaited solo album Ten Tall Tails.

Dave Carter is a 30 plus year veteran of the music who has played with many bands over the years including the likes of Alex Smith, Ian Moss, Moving Pictures, Bob Corbett and The Roo Grass Band to name a few.

Ten Tall Tails is a long awaited dream of Dave’s who believes that after 30 years he is only just warming up.

Ten Tall Tails showcases Dave Carter’s songwriting talent, vocal and musical abilities and it’s full of well-crafted catchy tunes, well worth the long wait, the albums opening track, “Black Coffee” is my favourite.

The gig was one rocking event with a hell of a band to back him up, Matt Gaudry (Keys), Justin Ngariki (Bass), Robbie Long (Drums) and Paul Elliot (Guitar) most of the tunes from the album were played with Dave receiving a standing ovation at the end of the gig from the huge crowd that consisted of a large proportion of the cream of Newcastle’s music industry.

A testament to the standing and respect Dave Carter has in the music industry.
Ten Tall Tails is available now on iTunes and well worth a listen
