Passport to Airlie – Newcastle kicked off last Sunday, August 13th at The Stag & Hunter Hotel. This was the first heat of Passport to Airlie 2017 with five sensational local bands and artists taking to the Stag’s stage for a super tight heat with a big crowd of punters there supporting them all.

A big congratulations to Newcastle Duo, Bravo Victor who won the heat with a superb set, finishing with a brilliant cover of ‘Hallelujah‘ a song that many try and few master, man they nailed it! Rockers Arcades And Lions were runners up on the night, with both now heading straight through to the September semi-finals.

Boneman, Jackson and Wesley’s Edge rocked the stage with killer sets that were all strong contenders for the Wildcard draw to the Semi-finals. This heat has set the bar very high for the rest of the heats and the judges are expecting one hell of a ride into the finals.

Heat 2 kicks off 4.00 pm this Sunday, August 20th with The Autumn HeartsThe Reo FendersBig On TangentsMilstreem and Diplazar. Head on into The Stag, support the bands, enjoy some damn fine local live music. There is plenty of cool prizes for the punters as well with $50.00 bar tabs, Tickets to Airlie Beach Music Festival and a cool Fender Guitar all up for grabs.
