The Sunshine Coast’s, High Tropics, fronted by singer/songwriter Josh Stewart, have dropped their latest digital single, Better Days, via independent rock label, Golden Robot Records.

Birthed by the fuzz-filled glory years that were the 2000s, High Tropics combine lo-fi indie rock production techniques with charm and methodical arrangements reminiscent of archetypal singer/songwriters. Despite only starting out this year, the Australian rockers have also already signed to esteemed US label, Roll Call Records, and have garnered praise from both international and local tastemakers alike.

Their second single, ‘Better Days’, continues along the same vein as their debut single, ‘15 Years’. Recorded partly in Josh Stewart’s bedroom and then finished off at Heliport studios with good….

….friend Elliot Heinrich of Pop Cult, Better Days shares the sentiment of its chorus; waiting for a phase or stage in one’s life to pass – a feeling anyone who’s ever had a bad day has probably felt to some extent. Musically – the descending progression builds a sense of doom and gloom, creating a call and response of sorts between the lyrics and music.
