HOLLY BUCHANAN – THE QUATTRO CAFE, ERINA

Swamp House News & Reviews

I had the pleasure of attending Central coast singer song writer, Holly Buchanan’s ‘I’ve Found You’ debut EP launch,at The Quattro Café, Erina on Friday night.

‘I’ve Found You’ consists of 6 simple but catchy pop/acoustic tracks, to be totally honest this is not the style of music I would normally go out of my way to listen to, but I do like this. There is not a weak track on ‘I’ve Found You’, its natural and organic sound coupled with Holly’s husky vocals with a distinctive Aussie tone and some great song writing, makes this EP a pretty impressive and refreshing debut recording. Holly most definitely has a new fan in me and I would highly recommend I’ve Found You to any lover of good honest music.
The Quattro Cafés intimate setting was a perfect choice for the EP launch as were the two opening acts with local band band March To May and Soloist Kiersten Nyman setting the tone nicely for Holly’s set.

Holly’s set was fantastic; with the EP played in its entirety and a full band backing her to add plenty of depth. The high lights for me apart from hearing the EP played live were, Holly’s brilliant cover of Lorde’shit Royals and her new Single Dying inside which is not on the EP. All up a fantastic night at a cool little venue.

Holly Buchanan’s EP, ‘I’ve Found You’ is out now on iTunes
