Roadside Cross, is the latest single lifted from 2018 Golden Guitar winner, Matt Scullions album I’m Just A Song, released through Social Family Records.

The song that Matt hopes will encourage even just a few people to slow down and not look at their phones while driving, was one that he really didn’t want to write, but he felt it was one he had to, especially after all the traveling he’s done and roadside tributes he passed along the way.

The video clip for Roadside Cross includes footage that holds a special place in Matt’s heart “The opening scene of the video is a shot of Michael Cowderoy’s cross.  A great musician and good friend of mine that, unfortunately, met his end whilst driving to his girlfriend’s place after a show, on the New England Highway, south of Tamworth,” he says.  “It’s hard to drive past these scenes when you don’t know someone, let alone when you do, sadly.”

Matt hosts The Scullion Sessions at The Stag & Hunter Hotel, Newcastle on the first Wednesday of each month, The shows usually run for 2 hours with Matt and two other Writers taking centre stage. It’s 3 stools, 3 Songwriters and a bunch of stories, laughs, and tears.

The next Scullion Sessions is on Wednesday, August 1st. Matt will be hosting the night with special guests,  singer-songwriter Chalkie White and Glen Harrison, half of the chart-topping duo Kaylens Rain. The night kicks off at 7.00pm with a $10.00 door charge.
