We dropped into Lizotte’s last Sunday for their Lazy Sunday lunch show with Men From Earth, it was a sensational afternoon of live music, good food and great company.
‘Men From Earth’, well this was the first time we’ve had the pleasure of catching this Folk Rock band live and what a magical musical experience it was, raw and natural live music at its best. This band is brimming with talent: Multi-instrumentalist, Scott Bird (Pale Riders) songwriter, musical director, lead vocal, acoustic guitar, resonator guitar & harmonica, Tom Beasley, mandolin, banjo and vocals; Luke Wright, Mandocello, acoustic guitar and vocals and Robert Patey-Downes, vocals, djembe, percussion and drums.

Scott Bird “Men From Earth”
This show was the last of the bands marathon ‘Wildwood Echoes’ tour, promoting their debut album of the same name. Australian music industry icon Rob Hirst – Midnight Oil / Backsliders said of Wildwood Ecdoes “Imagine the raw power of these gritty folk songs blasting from a festival pa. Imagine the sonic gut-punch of these foot-stomping blues. Men From Earth make songs that can, should, must! – be played loud and live. No bells and whistles here, no smooth edges. Turn Wildwood Echoes up – then show up to their next gig.” and we couldn’t agree more.

Fletcher Pilon
Young central Coast singer / song writer Fletcher Pilon opened the afternoon with at cracker set mixed with originals and some well-chosen covers. Fletcher finished off his set by replacing his acoustic guitar for an electric for a pumping cover of Muddy Water’s ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ which blew the house away.
