Swamp HouseNews & Reviews

After a 33 year Hiatus Narara Music Festival is back, with the organizers announcing their 2017 lineup today. The organizers have stayed true to their word and one would guess heaps of pressure to include nostalgia acts, with the line up being totally nostalgia free. We are pretty damn excited about he lineup, which includes some of the best ‘here and now’ Australian Rock, Blues & Psychedelia doing the rounds at the moment.

Whilst there will be no bands playing from the original 1983 & 4 festivals, Narara 2017 will salute the heritage of the Eighties icon with all bands playing 1 song from the original lineups, so expect to hear some awesome covers of classic Angels, INXS, Rose Tattoo, Cold Chisel & others.

The 2017 lineup includes THE VANNS, hailing from the New South Wales town of Kiama, THE VANNS with their infectious mash of earthy indie rock,….

THE SNOWDROPPERS who have traveled and conquered the musical landscape of Australia many times over – building a loyal fan-base and tearing down stages with a shambolic grace all their own, Sydney rockers LEPERS & CROOKS renouned for their consistent stream of blistering live shows, Legendary Blues/Rockers CHASE THE SUN,….

….Sydney duo POLISH CLUB with pop songs fifty years late and twice the speed. In any one of their numbers, which barely nip at the three minute mark, the full-bodied howl of Motown’s finest front men is parsed through the garage rock scuzz of Detroit, Newcastle’s BONES JONES & THE SKELETONES a hotbed of dirty grooves, screaming guitars, tequila-soaked harmonies & blues excess, Sunshine Coast, dirty swamp Blues Rockers TRANSVAAL DIAMOND SYNDICATE, five piece Indie Rock band WILDHONEY,….

…. Voodoo Soul & Alt Country Rock N’ Roll with PAPA PILKO & THE BINRATS, Central coast Psychedelia Rockers SPACE CARBONARA, winners of this years prestigious Bluesfest Busking Comp – IVY and DOS ENOS with a Sprinkle of Dirt, Swirl of psych, Pinch of Growl and Slither of Blues.
