The brand new album from Alt-Country/Americana and outlaw country artist, Gareth Leach, Death & Taxes, was released today via digital platforms with hard copies available from shows, including his album launch at The Spotted Mallard in Melbourne this evening supported by Gretta Ziller and Jasper Shelton Hollis.

With both singles from the album, ‘Turn Back Jimmy Creek’ and the title track, ‘Death & Taxes’ so far having been added to the top of Apple Music’s A-List: Americana playlist upon release, the album also landed at a very respectable #3  on the iTunes Country Album chart this morning.

It is pretty amazing to think that this day has finally arrived. I’ve been so absolutely blown away by the reaction and how well my first two singles from the release have been received in anticipation for this album. I really want to thank everyone who has been involved in this whole journey. It’s almost been a two-year process getting this record ready to unleash into the world, so I’m just so excited and grateful.”
– Gareth Leach

The eight-track record features eight superbly crafted songs all written by Leach with the exception of the title track, which was penned by Jasper Hollis and 2018 Golden Guitar finalist, Gretta Ziller. As the second single and opener for the album, it features classic sounding outlaw guitar licks played by Lee Morgan, with Leach’s powerful vocal performance and chorus harmonies from Gretta Ziller also capturing the gritty and raw emotion of Death & Taxes.

Death & Taxes was produced, engineered and mixed by Tyson Fish of The Alamo in Melbourne, with additional engineering and production by Leach and mastering by David Walker (Stepford Audio).  The single and album artwork have all been created by Jasper Shelton Hollis.
