Newcastle’s home of original live music, The Stag & Hunter Hotel welcomes Spring 2017 with a red hot weekend of live music!

Friday, September 1st Will see Brisbane’s heavy hitters The Royal Artillery hit The Stag’s stage, a high-energy rock duo bringing a big sound to the table with deeply authentic Blues guitar bolstered by heavy grooves reminiscent of 90’s riff rock.

With an exciting sound and stimulating live show, The Royal Artillery have cemented themselves as a headline act in Brisbane’s Rock scene and are forging a path nationally with national radio play and a start on the Festival circuit (Agnes Blues and Roots, Devil’s Kitchen, Mojo Burning Festival, Wollombi Music Fest). T.R.A also shares the stage with acts such as Dallas Frasca, The Fumes, Money for Rope and Grim Rhythm regularly.

Quite simply, if you love your Hendrix-laced music, this band needs your attention.

Special guest on the night will be Fight IBIS

Saturday, September 2nd – The Stag welcomes back, Aussie Blues-rock heavy weights Chase The Sun who are on the road touring to celebrating the release of their killer new single ‘Ain’t No Love’ the second single from the band’s long-awaited third album. The tour will be rolling into Newie and hitting The Stag’s stage on Saturday.

Celebrating 10 years together in 2017, Chase The Sun established themselves from the get go as crowd favourites at festivals all over the country, and have taken their loud guitar blues, blazing hard funk and a cranking 70’s southern rock feel around the world. Chase The Sun features the powerhouse delivery and soul-tinged song writing of guitarist Jan Rynsaardt combined with elements of acoustic blues, stoner rock Psychedelia, and Stevie Ray Vaughn boogie – this three-piece crank out their own take on a classic sound.
