Saturday, January 7th – In Motion, are a hot emerging alternative rock band from Newcastle. Formed early in 2014 as a creative outlet for their teenage angst, the three-piece have worked on writing their own original material drawing inspiration from current day bands such as Kingswood and Royal Blood with early Soundgarden and Led Zep influences also coming through. By melding hook-filled melodies with hard and heavy beats, In Motion manage to inject this vast array of influences into their sound.
In the beginning, due to their tender ages, they gained experience where they could performing live at all age gigs and band comps with great success. In 2014 they came away winners of Hunter High School Rock Off which gave them the opportunity to support In Hearts Wake. In 2015 they spread their wings to Sydney and came away winners of Youth Rock (past winners include Silverchair, Alex Lloyd & Hayley Warner). More recently they took out the Passport to Airlie Music Festival & Newcastle Battle of the Bands crowns.
Sunday, January 8th – Minnie Marks, with an insane talent that’s out of control playing what she calls dirty sweet rock & roll this young singer/songwriter/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist has been eating up girl bands since 1994. Minnie Marks is not just some blazingly electrified acoustic guitar playing freak of nature, but also a rare and triple threat: Singer, song – writer and multi-instrumentalist. Be warned, her show will take you on a dizzying, riff rock rollercoaster ride with songs written over the past years of her musical journey around the world.
