THE DROP FESTIVAL CROSSES INTERNATIONAL WATERS TO HIT BALI THIS JUNE

Last month, Australia’s newest touring festival, The Drop wrapped up with three shows across three states, delivering a seriously good time to thousands of people. But, the party is not over. The Drop is crossing international waters to Bali to create a party to end all parties with Dune RatsDZ Deathrays and more.

Good mates Dune Rats & DZ Deathrays will share the stage and the tour bus for the first time since the “International Disaster Tour”.

It’s been a dynamite year for the Dune Rats. After blowing the lid off Laneway Festival, their scorching second album The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit scored the No.1 spot on the ARIA Album Charts. Boasting a raw, raucous energy and party punk anthems like “Scot Green” and “Bullshit” (#33 and #34 triple j Hottest 100), the Brisbane three-piece belted out a 40+      stop tour of North America and Europe, before returning home to steal the show at Splendour in the Grass 2017 and run riot on their recent sold-out theatre tour around the country.

Dune Rats

Dune Rats brought 2017 home with two ARIA Award nominations and some of the biggest crowds they’ve ever played to on the Falls Festival tour. 2018 kicked off very nicely with singles “6 Pack” and “Braindead” landing at number 55 and 75 respectively on triple j’s Hottest 100 and huge performances at Sydney City Limits and The Drop Festival. With Big Pineapple and Bass In The Grass coming up and a quick jaunt to the UK/EU, Dune Rats have well and truly settled into writing their next album – expect a taste of this by the end of the year.

Multi-ARIA Award winning Brisbane two-piece DZ Deathrays have come a long way from the first house party gig that they formed for. Signed to I Oh You in Australia/NZ, Dine Alone in Canada, and Alcopop in the UK, they have made a lot of ground over the years including winning an ARIA Award each for their first record Bloodstreams (2012) and second record Black Rat (2014). They’ve done multiple sold-out tours of Australia, they’ve done 22 international tours with the likes of Blood Red Shoes, Cerebral Ballzy, and Band of Skulls.

DZ Deathrays

They’ve played Reading & Leeds, SXSW, CMJ, CMW, The Great Escape internationally and Falls Festival, Splendour In The Grass and Laneway at home. They can even add a stadium tour in support of The Foo Fighters to their bucket list. 2016 saw the release of two stand-alone singles “Blood On My Leather” and “Pollyanna” which they celebrated with a world tour with good mates Dune Rats. In 2017 they shared two tracks from their new record which saw the single ‘Shred For Summer’ enter the Hottest 100 at #67 and “Total Meltdown” almost make it at #109. Their new record Bloody Lovely debuted at #4 in the ARIA Charts and number one in the Australian album charts.
