Sublime indie-folk sweethearts Tinpan Orange are back with their new single ‘Wanderers’ – the first piece of work to be released since 2016’s ‘See You In The Water’, the follow-up single to their critically acclaimed LP Love Is A Dog. The romanticist trio of Emily and Jesse Lubitz and Alex Burkoy have also revealed they’ll once again be wowing crowds around the country on a run of live shows over October/November, upon returning from their European tour.
Composed by Harry Angus (The Cat Empire) and Emily Lubitz, and produced, engineered and mixed by Anna Laverty, ‘Wanderers’ holds in its grasp the effortless delicacies that have come to distinguish Tinpan Orange’s unique sound: highly stylised folk melodies of iridescent string arrangements, ethereal vocals and subtle guitar work of perfect refrain. Calling in long-term collaborator and friend Daniel Farrugia (Angus & Julia Stone, Missy Higgins) on drums, the result is one of their most breath-taking, feet-sweeping arrangements to date.
The indie-folksters will be celebrating the release with an eight-date Australian tour straight off the back of their already announced European Tour in late October. Starting with some hometown shows in Melbourne and Geelong, the band of lovers, dreamers and dancers will be taking their unique live show to Darwin, Fremantle, Sydney, Brisbane, and Hobart as well as performing at Mullumbimby’s Mullum Festival.
Be sure to catch one of Australia’s most raw and honest live acts, when Tinpan Orange bring their emotionally captivating live performance to town.
