This is one for all you Newcastle Blues purists out there!

Ross ward’s ‘Wards Express‘ will be hitting The Stag stage this Friday, June 17th.

Ross Ward 'Wards Express'

Ross Ward ‘Wards Express’

Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Ross Ward’s first ‘Bluesfest’ appearance was in ’95 , where the idea for the band ‘Ward’s Xpress’ was conceived. That’s a little over twenty years of keeping a band working that is musically committed to originality and in a constant persuit of excellence ( along with a deep love of The Blues! ). For Ross, it’s also been over 45 years as a guitar player, working and recording with some of the best artists and musicians in this country over that time.
In July 2015, ‘Wards Xpress’ celebrated their 20th anniversary by releasing ‘The Back Roads’ retrospective album ( a remastered selection of tracks from the band’s back-catalogue ). The CD hit the ‘Number One’ position on the ‘Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Chart’ and stayed there for the next three months, giving the band their second consecutive ‘No 1’, after the success of 2012’s ‘Five Lanes’.

Then Saturday, July 18th:  Newcastle’s favourite Blues/Rock outfit Voodoo Express will be giving The Stag a real shake.
