WHO’S ON STAGE AT THE STAG THIS WEEK – OCTOBER 27TH

Swamp House News & Reviews

Newcastle’s home of original live music, The Stag & Hunter Hotel, Mayfield has four killer nights of live music this week!

Thursday, October 27th – Sees award winning Australian solo artist Claude Hay invokes the best of stomping traditional Blues, Hard Rock and booty-shaking funk, all delivered with slide guitar chops to burn and a vocal range to match. Claude is perhaps the world’s ultimate Do-It- Yourself musician – initially forging his live sound on the back of looping technology which allowed him to create a band vibe without the band. This approach has seen this fiercely independent artist build an audience for his music globally.

Friday, October 28th –  One of Newcastle’s favorite touring bands, Transvaal Diamond Syndicate; the manufacturers of some of Australia’s finest foot-stomping, Swamp, and Dirty Blues Rock, are down from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast to party hard.

Supporting Transvaal Diamond Syndicate on the night will be the soulful, grass roots, traveling Bluesman Jimmy Watts and his Band.

Saturday, October 29th – Multiple award-winning Australian Blues Musician Darren Jack will be back at The Stag. Darren has been electrifying audiences with his signature powerhouse Rock ‘n’ Blues and original music for over twenty years, we highly recommend this show.

Sunday, October 29th – Finish the weekend perfectly with Matt Stillert. Matt’s unique sounds range from soul soothing folk melodies to high energy foot stomping Alt-Blues/Rock, displaying a dynamic blend of Roots influenced music.
