Ziggy Ramo opens up the dialogue on mental health with new single ‘Same Script’. Tipped by many as one of the most exciting new players on the Australian hip hop scene, 22-year-old Indigenous artist Ziggy Ramo has had a huge 12 months with peers and industry suitable impressed by his scything flow, effortlessly combined with a politically-charged, insightful focus.
Following on from emotional and arresting debut EP, Black Thoughts and powerful single ‘Black Face’, Ziggy returns with a new offering ‘Same Script’.
In his own words, the single is..“ …a self-reflection that acknowledges we are all unique individuals, no two the same, yet we, as human beings regardless of circumstances have the capacity for empathy as we all experience such core human feelings that are essential to our existence. Regardless of race, gender or sexuality, through both love and loss we can connect to the plight of our fellow beings and come to an understanding that no one is ever truly alone in what at times can be an uphill battle.”
Fresh off the stage at WA’s SOTA Festival, Ziggy Ramo will join Mathas at Mojo’s Fremantle on Friday 9th June, then support friends Thundamentals at the Astor Theatre on Saturday 17th June. More shows to be announced soon.
