This week at The Stag & Hunter Hotel, Newcastle. Thursday, March 23rd; The Ruiins w/ Etch Punk | 8 pm Free Entry –  The Ruiins’ is a collaboration of raw blues and vintage rock enriched by powerful vocals and a touch of character bringing life to each song. The brother-like duo, Adam Dooker and Pat Sugden, hail from the New South Wales Mid North Coast and have graced audiences the length of the east coast.

Friday, March 24th; Byron Short & The Sunset Junkies | 8p m Free Entry – Byron Short has dedicated his life to his music and is proud to present his works to the world through his own label. From Endurance Studio in Brisbane, Australia, Byron’s many musical and artistic musings are given license to fly, unencumbered by the demands of an increasingly narrow-minded music industry.

Byron as well as collaborations with his band The Sunset Junkies – a group of freakishly talented musicians dedicated to bringing out the best in Byron’s dirty Rock-N-Roll soul. From Brisbane, Queensland to Nashville, Tennessee and most everywhere in between, Byron has amassed a loyal following through hard work and steadfastness over the last decade of music making and we are excited by what the future may hold.

Saturday, March 25th; Method w/ Elwood Myre | 8 pm Free Entry –  Folk/ Roots – Oz roots music in it’s purest form, Method bridge the gap between Americana Swamp and the Celts, evoking the journey folk music has made across the Atlantic and Pacific to end up with a unique Australian sound. These are soundscapes and songs locked firmly in a gravely groove, delivering a rhythm driven roots experience with a lyrical heart. A new Australian Alt. Folk, played by two master musicians with humour, sensitivity and world class Method.

Elwood Myre is a fervid collaboration between troubadour Elwood and Multi-instrumentalist Hunter BeasleyAfter discovering their lifeblood in Songs the pair have been working endlessly on developing a sound unique unto itself and awash with golden tones of nostalgia. Chiming with roots in the late 60s & 70s and a firm nod to their modern contemporaries, Elwood Myre have planted their feet firmly on a timeless plane
