Newcastle Blues/Rockers Voodoo Express at The Kent Hotel, kicks off 8.30pm.
The Voodoo Express are a powerhouse Blues/Rock band featuring some of Newcastle’s finest musicians.Their combined experience delivers a knockout performance every time they hit the stage. In their short existence so far they have brought to audiences a show that is jam packed with energy and production that is rarely seen in venues these days.
The Bennies with special guests Clowns, AXE Girls and RAAVE TAPES! at The Small Ballroom, doors at 8.00pm – tickets at OZTIX
The Bennies recently wrapped up their Wisdom Machine Australian tour in Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Two weeks and 15,000 kilometers later they were playing a festival in Berlin, Germany. It’s indicative of the work ethic for the Melbourne band who have earnt a reputation for not only hard partying but heavy touring.
One of Newcastle’s favourites, Mark Wells solo at the Wicko Beer Garden from 1.30pm. Have lunch, enjoy the music and hang round for Ghost Road in the Main Bar from 5.30pm
When a lot of people think solo singer guitarists, they think ballads and low key vibes. When it comes to Mark’s solo style, he’s thrown conventional wisdom out the window. Whilst he can still play spine-tingling versions of mellow classics. Whilst he can still play spine-tingling versions of mellow classics, Mark can take it up through the gears until he’s in full flight in one man band mode, keeping the dance floor jumping all night. (He sings, plays guitar and drums all at the same time!)
