Beth Hart, blessed with one of the most unforgettable blues-rock voices in the world, lays it all out with her new single, the attitude-infused rock track ‘Bad Woman Blues’. The song is about a woman who insists on the right to be who she is while making absolutely no apologies for it.
I’m not your mama I’m not your wife
I’m not the one who’ll make it right
Them good girls always lose
I don’t pray to angels dressed in white
I’m not the one who’ll save your life
Them good girls always lose
I got the bad woman blues
I got the bad woman bad woman bad bad bad woman blues
Opening with a gospel chant and irresistible groove, ‘Bad Woman Blues’ is the anti-love song. “I wrote that with Rune Westberg,” Beth says, “whom I’ve written with on and off for years. It’s about a woman who doesn’t have any interest whatsoever in being good, because she knows she’s not. But instead of hating herself for it, she’s very clear with the man. Like, ‘Baby, I’m an asshole and a frickin’ witch, but you are gonna have fun with me’.
‘Bad Woman Blues’ is the lead single from Beth Hart’s upcoming ‘War In My Mind’ studio album – which will land on September 27. The album, produced by multiple Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Paramore etc.), is the hotly anticipated follow up from Beth’s massively successful 2016 release “Fire On The Floor” which garnered the Grammy Nominated artist yet more critical acclaim and sold-out shows at iconic venues from the Ryman Auditorium to the Royal Albert Hall.
