Bio
At the age of nine, a young Joe Mungovan would never have imagined that begging his parents “for a drum kit for Christmas” would pave his way into some of the most prestigious stages in Australia. The now folk singer/songwriter, crashed his skateboard at the age of 13, leaving him unable to play his drumkit and in a wheelchair for 4 months. Joe taught himself guitar and unconsciously developed a indie/roots style which blend together to produce his unique style. With attention to articulate lyrics, catchy melodies and rhythmic detail, Joe’s songs express his genuine emotion. His authenticity and passion is conveyed in his intimate live show, and is an experience not worth missing.
Now at 21 years of age, Joe has already shared stages with some of Australia’s most well known acts including The Preatures,Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Mark Seymour (Hunters and Collectors), Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band) JOY., and Owen Rabbit. Joe has also played pre-show entertainment at The Sydney Entertainment Centre for Neil Young, Gotye, Paul Simon and Sting.
